WOW take a look at Salem! Salem is a Friesian cross gelding, weighing 1200lb, he is 5 years old, he stands between 15.3 and 16h and he is a beautiful black color with a long flowing mane and tail! He looks like something straight out of a fairy tale… but Salem is the for real!!! He is friendly with lots of personality! Salem is out of the same breeding program as several other top draftcross geldings that we have had over the last 4 years and every one of them has the right mind with the calm nature that makes them great family horses. Salem has been in the program for two years and has completed the natural horsemanship training and does liberty work and he also knows some tricks, he will bow, lay down and set on his rump. Salem is a family favorite whether it’s riding or just hanging out getting pampered by the kids, everyone loves him! He has been ridden down the highways and he is traffic safe as well. Salem is harness broke and has been used on the farm in all implements as well as drove down the highways. Salem is great on trails and he will cross creeks, ditches, logs and navigate rough rocky areas. He has a smooth jog, a VERY VERY nice easy to set lope, a good stop, turns a circle both ways and backs with ease! He has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife such as deer or turkey or other animals like cows or dogs and will go anywhere that he is asked too. He has been rode many miles in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky and encountered every obstacle possible on the trail. He will go up or down even the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed.
