“Donavan” is a 9yr old, 15hh, QH gelding, who is the ultimate, versatile, safe, unicorn, that everyone needs in their life! Donnie is a true all-arounder, and no matter what discipline you currently, or want to ride in, this boy has something for everyone! Everyone that knows me, knows how much I love this horse. Here is a beautiful, palomino gelding that can dabble in absolutely anything that you want!!! I don’t even know where to start, but I will start by saying this boy is true, honest, and safe. I can genuinely say, I have never met a horse like Donavan. A horse that you can throw into any show or discipline, and he looks like he belongs there every time!!! Donnie is beginner safe, kid safe, husband safe, yet knows more than I do, and is a great teacher.
In the barn, Donnie is as quiet as a mouse. He doesn’t ask for anything. He will stand on the cross ties all day long to be groomed, bathed, tacked, braided, etc. He has docile and gentle ground manners and will tiptoe around with a child. He doesn’t mind commotion and dogs running around while he is on the cross ties. He is very sweet and in your pocket and has never offered to be rude in any type of way. He is the type of horse that you can trust turning the kids loose with, knowing that he will be gentle with them.
Donavan will make you feel excited to get into the saddle. He gives off an amazing vibe, and will put a smile on your face every single ride. Looking for a safe trail mount? Donnie is a trail machine and will go absolutely anywhere you ask. Through the water, over the logs, down the roads, and if you don’t feel like using a bridle today, go for a ride with a neck rope. I took Donnie out on the windiest, coldest day, for a two hour trail ride with nothing but a rope around his neck. It is such an amazing, fun, free, feeling knowing that your horse is completely in control even though you don’t have a bit in his mouth. Donavan will lead, follow, go out alone and in groups. He is safe with dogs and hounds riding on his heels. He will gently step over logs, rocks, bridges, he is very sure footed and not clumsy. He is safe with traffic, bikes, wildlife, etc. Donavan has been over night camping and will highline, or stay in a stall. Pack your saddle bag full of beer, and go enjoy your ride. Drop your reins and let Donavan take you for a relaxing adventure! He would make a great guest horse, camping partner, husband horse, kids horse, you name it.
Donavan rides western, english, and bareback. Again, this boy is versatile. He came to me knowing more about western riding and reining than I do. I have actually learned so much from riding him, and he is very forgiving. I have never ridden a slide stop, and I know for a fact that I am not doing it right, but he does his job and takes care of me. He doesn’t have a preference, tack him up english and go jump around or dabble in dressage, or go play around with cows and practice your reining pattern. He knows both western and english buttons, so don’t be afraid if you don’t know one or the other. His gaits are smooth, and comfortable. Donnie will ride around as a push ride, but he goes right to work when he knows it is time to work! He is currently set up as safe for beginners, yet knows so much and has the willingness to please and entertain advanced riders. Me, an advanced rider, cannot wait to ride him, and learn from him every ride.
In the ring, Donavan will walk, jog, trot, extended trot, lope, canter, and move out into gallop all on a loose rein, or collected. He is the perfect combo of whoa and go, and he can tell when he has a kid on him, or when he has to go to work. I have hauled Donnie to tons of different trails and arenas and he is the same horse every time. I let him sit for weeks, throw him in the trailer and go to a show and he steps right into the ring and does his job. I have shown him in sorting, team penning, and trail obstacle. He would make someone an amazing show horse in the western and english world. He would do amazing in ranch trail, ranch riding, reining, trail, western dressage, classical dressage, hunters, and much more. He has beautiful gaits!
Donovan’s gaits are very easy to control, he knows voice commands and will respond to your seat and legs. Throw a kid or beginner on him and he will gently go around the ring. Hop on and put him to work, and he will slide stop, spin, side pass, move laterally off of leg, collect, jump, you name it. He knows his leads, and will go from walk to lope with a kiss. I have ridden him a lot with just a neck rope as well!!!
Again, this horse knows more than I do in the ring, yet he will ride like a lesson horse, being less sensitive to leg etc, until you ask him to go to work and he will turn on his buttons! You can easily bring him down through the gaits, or ask for a big stop. He knows how to move his shoulders, hind quarters and rib cage.
Donavan will pop over fences on the buckle, and does not get forward while jumping. He has super cute form over fences as well! With that being said, I took this boy out fox hunting for thanksgiving, not realizing how many people were going to attend and how fast that we were going to travel! Donavan jumped everything and didn’t hesitate at the big stuff, he absolutely shocked me, as he willingly jumped huge logs and fences. He was a blast to hunt, stopped and stood at checks, and was fantastic with the hounds.
Donavan has given walk /trot lessons to kids. He was gentle and kind, and very forgiving. He jogged right along as the little girl was trying to learn how to post the trot.
I could go on and on, and I know that I am forgetting stuff. But here is a safe, all around horse that can head in absolutely any direction. Donnie loads and hauls great. He is good for the vet and farrier. He is an easy keeper with no maintenance, no health or soundness issues, and can live inside or outside. I have a recent PPE on file. He is a babysitter type in the pasture, and is out with mares and geldings. He is easy to catch to walks up to the gate to great you every morning. He is totally safe for beginners to work with, and lead in for breakfast. It doesn’t matter if you ride english, or western, he has so much potential in every single aspect. If you are looking for pretty, safe, and do it all, here is your horse! To top it off, he has such a gentle, loving, curious, personality. I had just purchased myself a new personal horse right before I found Donavan, otherwise Donavan would absolutely stay with me forever, with that being said, Donnie is being offered only this once, and if he doesn’t find his forever home, he will be staying with me. So do NOT miss out on this once in a lifetime horse!!!!! Take a moment to watch Donnie’s full video, and you will see just how special this horse is!
Can you see Donavan being your forever partner? If so, please reach out!! Don’t hesitate to reach out for any further information! Shipping can be arrange anywhere!
