On film sets where chaos is choreographed and every detail is curated to tell a story, it takes more than a pretty horse to make the movie magic real—it takes a partner.
A teammate. A rock.
Forget the smoke and mirrors—Cash N Joak is the real deal.
Towering at 16.1 hands of solid black brilliance, this 2016 gelding is that classic made beauty with roots that run deep in rodeo royalty and a commendable record of on-screen professionalism. “Joaker" blends the functionality of your favorite riding horse with the polish & personality of a production-trained star. Entrusted as a cast horse, Joaker carried actor Michael Spears- who portrayed the notable tribal leader “Runs His Horse” on the latest season of 1923. And with a name like that, the character needed a horse who could fill those tall shoes—and Joaker delivered. His impeccable handle, commanding presence, and ability to work under pressure made him more than a background extra- he was part of the storytelling.
Season 2 pushed boundaries with sweeping cinematography, unpredictable terrain, and high-intensity action sequences. While the actors brought emotion to the screen, it was horses like Joaker who gave those moments weight, power, and authenticity. This kind of environment isn’t for the faint of heart. The smoke and mirrors of Hollywood require real-life dependability, and this gelding carried it all with the quiet humility & charisma of a seasoned pro.
Fitting, too, that he’s bred from a long line of legends who knew how to handle heat. This gelding is by Storm N Cash, which goes back to Dash for Cash—the AQHA Hall of Famer and World Champion racehorse whose legacy needs no introduction. On the bottom side, he’s out of a mare who’s lineage goes back to Maudies Joak, the only stallion in history to win a WPRA World Title, a 5x NFR Qualifier, a multiple NFR Average Champion, and an absolute legend in the barrel pen. Simply put: this horse is bred like he was meant to be remembered.
But beyond the résumé and “OG” pedigree, what makes Joaker unforgettable is his demeanor. There’s an old soul gentleness about him—he's safe, honest, and genuinely enjoys time with his rider.
Joaker began his career in the hands of futurity barrel horse trainer, Emily Necasie and transitioned into a specialty set horse under the guidance of John Christiana from the age of four. This black beauty has been conditioned for life on the ranch, trail, arena, and in front of the camera. Ride him english or western, indoors or outdoors, on cattle or under the studio lights- he does it all, and does it kindly.
This guy has an effortless neck rein, a floaty comforable gait, and confidently carry beginners, guests, or seasoned riders alike. His size and structure make him an ideal candidate for a solid husband horse, with an education enjoyable for all parties. I could see him making an excellent weekend ranch rider, or versatility horse as well. He does not have a mean bone in his big body, and his puppy dog personality will win you over in an instant. He is the kind of horse you feel proud to own, not just for what he can do, but for who he is.
Cash N Joak comes with a recent set of fresh, clean X-rays and a vet statement from Mid South Equine Sports Medicine. With solid black feet and easy-keeper nature, this guy is the total package—rare, refined, and real.
